Peppermint
Peppermint - Peppermint is valued for many reasons, but most importantly it’s ability to relieve gas and bloating. It’s also antimicrobial, antispasmodic, and great for pain relief. Historically highly valued by the Greeks and Romans. Dried leaves were even found in Egyptian pyramids from around 1000 BC.
Cacao
Cacao beans have a long history that dates back to Central and South America before 1500 BC. The Mayan, Olmec and Aztec civilizations all used the entire cacao medicinally and as a beverage and each culture added their own twist with varying spices and flavors. There are small amounts of endorphins (pain killing hormones that occur naturally in the body) present in cacao.
Licorice
Licorice - A sweet, tasty herb that soothes the stomach, stabilizes blood sugar, supports hormone function, and much more. Also a very powerful anti-inflammatory and one of the most commonly used herbs in European herbal medicine. It has been used medicinally for thousands of years.
